Ashleigh Anderson

Ashleigh Anderson paints landscapes and animal portraits in oils. She starts with a warm underpainting and builds up thick layers of color, a style she calls "expressive realism." Landscapes are her first love, and she prefers painting plein air to study how light, shadow and color interact. She is working on an ongoing series about US National Parks.

With more than ten years as a professional, she teaches one-day workshops, group classes, a teen program and private mentorship, including courses at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center: "I teach not just how to paint, but how to see." She is a board member of Northern California Arts, Inc. Originals, prints and commissions are available through Landscapes By Ashleigh.
