About
Linsey Martin is the self-taught macrame artist behind Malama Macrame. She started knotting at 19, more than 30 years ago, making hemp jewelry while living in Lahaina on Maui and selling it on consignment in a small shop on Front Street.
Her work draws on natural elements such as sea shells and driftwood and is guided by what she calls the aloha spirit, summed up in her motto, "Aloha aina, the love of the land." Based in Sacramento, she takes commissions and teaches classes.
