Patris

Patris (Patris Miller) is a Sacramento painter who runs Patris Studio and Gallery in the Oak Park Historic District, where she has worked since 2012. Born Patti Miller, she grew up in northwest Montana, a place she says "imprinted a love for the landscape upon my heart and soul." Her collections include landscape paintings, still life and figurative work, the Broadway Rain Series and Oak Park artwork.

Before returning to art, she taught English to Southeast Asian refugee children and earned a teaching credential and a master's degree in English Language Development at Sacramento State. She picked up the brush again in 1998 with classes at Sacramento City College. Today her studio hosts art classes, workshops and life drawing and painting sessions, and she takes house portrait commissions.
