The Reclaimist

The Reclaimist is Sacramento collage artist Stephanie Almendariz, who builds her pieces from hand-cut, layered paper. Her interest in collage started in 2008 with a stack of CD lyric books, and she describes being hooked by the challenge of fitting it all together: "The puzzle intrigues me."

Her work includes landscapes and fan art, and she says each piece is more than layers of paper, carrying layers of meaning and small details. She has sold at the Midtown Farmers Market and at the Crocker Art Museum's ArtMix nights, and has been interviewed by the Sacramento Bee and Good Day Sacramento.
