Family-run Thai street food at 20th and J from two sisters raised in Thailand, with a rotating board of specials and Thai desserts.
About Kin Thai Street Eatery
Kin Thai Street Eatery is a family-owned restaurant run by sisters Napis and Napak, who grew up in Thailand and set out to bring the flavors of its street food scene to Sacramento. It sits at 20th and J in the MARRS building, next to Peet's, and the restaurant says it is the first Thai spot in the Sacramento area recognized by the Michelin Guide.
Beyond the regular menu, a board of street specials changes often. Recent ones include grilled squid with spicy seafood sauce, fermented pork ribs, a spicy wagyu laab, crackling pork fried rice, a southern Thai chicken biryani with Hat Yai fried chicken and soft shell crab in yellow curry. Desserts lean Thai too, like pandan crepe cake, sago pudding with young coconut and pumpkin custard in season, and the drink list includes Thai and Lao beers.
