About Urban Roots
Urban Roots opened in 2018 as an independent craft brewery and smokehouse a short walk from Broadway in Southside Park. The kitchen centers on smoked meats like brisket and pork-belly burnt ends, and the taps run from core beers such as the Like Riding A Bike IPA to saisons, stouts and barrel-aged releases.
The brewery has collected a long list of medals, including California Craft Brewers Cup Brewery of the Year in 2021 and World Beer Cup gold in 2026. Seating is first come, first served, the patio welcomes leashed dogs, there is a kids menu, and takeout, beer and kegs can be ordered online.
