About
Sarah Kreutz is a self-taught painter who has worked in oils for more than 25 years. In her 20s she lived and worked in Paris, studying the paintings of Pissarro, Monet and Whistler in the city's museums. Her abstract landscapes are built up in layers of oil, mostly on wood panels, which she sands and reworks over weeks, months or even years; as she puts it, "every layer matters."
She has shown at Elliot Fouts Gallery, Tim Collom Gallery and Temp Contemporary in Sacramento, as well as the Coldwell Banker Art Show, and opens her studio during Sac Open Studios. Originals, prints and canvases are available through her online store.
