Sandy Fong Whetstone

Sandy Fong Whetstone is a ceramic sculptor, painter, printmaker and mixed media artist whose work reflects the beauty and humor of nature and our complicated relationship with it. Beyond clay she has worked in cyanotype, collage, wool fiber, bronze, welded metal, batik and soft sculpture sewn from old sweaters. "My primary goal is simple: I want my art to make me smile," she writes. She holds a B.A. from UC Davis and an M.A. from Sacramento State.

Her work is sold at the Crocker Art Museum store, the Pence Gallery and the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art store, and has been shown in galleries in the Bay Area, Southern California and New Orleans. She also offers two-day raku-fired ceramic sculpture workshops from her studio, and commissions are available on request.
