About
Wellman Art is the shared studio of Sid and Donine Wellman, who sell original abstract and pop art, mixed media, sculpture and public art. Sid paints and sculpts in a whimsical, high-contrast pop and abstract style with bold black outlines and big drips and splatters, a look rooted in his childhood dream of becoming a cartoonist. "It has always been about the color almost to an obsession," he says.
Donine draws on a career in graphic design for her mixed media and digital collage work, using old-world textures and patinas, graphic elements and peaceful palettes, often with uplifting sayings or images. Their originals, serigraphs, digital art and gifts are sold through their site, and they show at The MACC in Rancho Cordova.
