Bobbi Baldwin

Bobbi Baldwin is a fine art portrait painter who has taken commissions since 1982. She paints people, pets and horses entirely by hand, with no projectors or photo enlargements, often over a grisaille or bistre underpainting rooted in Renaissance practice, and also paints alla prima. Her work also covers figures, still lifes, flowers, travel landscapes and bronze sculpture.

She began drawing at nine and became a full-time artist at 30, and she has taught for decades. In 1995 she founded the nonprofit West Coast Society of Portrait Artists, and she ran Baldwin Gallery, a cooperative gallery in old town Fair Oaks. Her classes, DVDs and book are listed on her website.
