About

Diana Jahns has been making art since she first picked up crayons, with her grandmother, an artist and photographer, as an early influence. Today she moves between traditional materials and digital photography, building photographs, digitized paintings, graphic work and hybrid collages that layer paint-on-paper pieces with her own photos. She is clear about her process: "I do not use Ai," and every element comes from her own drawings, paintings or photographs.

She has shown for years around Sacramento and Davis, including Verge Center for the Arts, Axis Gallery, SMUD Gallery, Pence Gallery and John Natsoulas Gallery, with shows as far as Portland, Minneapolis and a solo exhibition in the Netherlands. Her work is in corporate collections including Kaiser Permanente and UC Davis, and the Sacramento Bee named her a Critic's Pick in 2016.
