About
Judith Monroe is a Sacramento mixed media artist who combines photography, often made with alternative processes, with paint, texture and found materials. She layers photographs with memory, pressed leaves with story and paint with intention, drawing on landscapes and natural specimens to explore physical, spiritual and memory-based themes.
Her stated aim is art that works as a "visual refuge," grounded in nature and hope, for people's homes and daily lives. Her work has been covered in local and national media and shown in galleries around the U.S. She sells originals through her website, takes commissions, and teaches, including a free online workshop on getting started with mixed media art journaling.
