Miss Brie

Miss Brie is a classically trained painter living and working in an artist community in Sacramento. Her site sums up the drive behind the work: "Painting is the way Brie communicates her varied life experiences, especially those unique to being female." Her paintings explore the link between adult women's sensuality and childhood innocence, with plush stuffed toys showing up again and again as reminders of youthful simplicity and play.

She trained in classical painting methods at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and later studied portrait painting at Studio Incamminati, the atelier of portrait painter Nelson Shanks. Her work has been shown at Fisher Brooks Gallery in Philadelphia, the Ocean City Arts Center and the Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek. She takes commissions through her website.
