Golden Dragon is a family-owned restaurant at 28th and Broadway that bills its cooking as Chinese comfort food: recipes rooted in Chinese heritage, adjusted for how Sacramento likes to eat now. Portions run generous, and regulars point to the honey walnut shrimp and hot and sour soup.

The kitchen has added a run of bao buns, including BBQ pork, orange chicken, Mongolian beef and a shrimp po' bao. Eat in the small dining room or order ahead online for pickup. A second Golden Dragon operates in Elk Grove.
