The Rind
Cheese-focused Midtown restaurant and bar with more than 50 artisan cheeses, grilled cheese, mac and cheese, and wine and craft beer to match.
About The Rind
The Rind opened on L Street in Midtown in May 2013 as a cozy restaurant and bar built around cheese. The kitchen works artisan cheeses into comfort food: signature grilled cheese sandwiches, mac and cheese creations, fresh salads and a roasted tomato soup the house calls famous.
For grazing, there are cheese and charcuterie plates drawn from a list of more than 50 cheeses, paired with wine, spritzes and craft beer. Happy hour runs weekday afternoons from 2:30 to 5:30 PM. Seating is first come, first served for parties of up to about eight, and the shop side sells cheese wheel cakes, gift cards and a cheese club. Trivia nights and pairing classes round out the calendar.
