Jacquie Tyrell

Jacquie Tyrell is a Sacramento ceramic artist who began working in clay in the late 1990s, when it opened up a creative side of herself she had not known before. Texture is at the heart of her work, and she is always on the lookout for objects to press into the clay.

She uses natural finds such as rocks, shells and pinecones alongside man-made textures like lace and stamps, and she collects pieces on her travels to use later. Her output runs from functional work such as bowls, tea light hurricanes and flower frogs to sculptural hangings, mandalas and sconces. She shares new work as Works in Clay by Jacquie.
