Brasserie du Monde
French brasserie at 12th and K downtown, serving lunch, dinner and weekend brunch, with mussels, steak frites and a happy hour menu.
About Brasserie du Monde
Brasserie du Monde is a French restaurant on K Street downtown. It opened in 2015 as Brasserie Capitale and took its current name in 2021, when the kitchen widened its French menu to include dishes from other parts of the world that draw on French recipes or technique. The kitchen is led by executive chef Isaac Hernandez and chef de cuisine Elimar Ruiz.
Dinner runs from French onion soup, deviled eggs and beef tartare to Salt Spring Island mussels, coq au vin blanc, duck breast with plum gastrique, osso buco and steak frites. Lunch adds sandwiches like the croque monsieur, and weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday brings eggs Benedict, pain perdu and duck confit waffles. A happy hour menu is served at its Café À Côté, and the restaurant hosts wine tastings and multi-course family dinners through Aziz's Bazaar. Reservations are on OpenTable.
