Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters
Award-winning Sacramento roaster's downtown cafe by the Hyatt, pouring direct-trade microlot coffee and espresso seven days a week.
About Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters
Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters was started by Andy and Edie Baker, who opened their first downtown shop in 2008. It has grown into one of Sacramento's best-known roasters, with cafes downtown, in East Sacramento (where the roastery is, on Folsom Boulevard), on Freeport Boulevard near Curtis Park and Land Park, and in Folsom. Its awards include a ROAST Magazine Roaster of the Year finalist spot in 2023 and second place overall at the Golden Bean North America competition.
The company buys through direct relationships with farmers, which gets it microlots and standout single origins alongside house blends like the Koru espresso. This 12th Street cafe next to the Hyatt Regency is the handy downtown stop for espresso drinks, tea and bags of beans to take home, and Chocolate Fish runs a points-based rewards program across its shops.
