Stepdad's
Elevated tavern food, craft beer and cocktails in the old Dad's Kitchen space on Freeport, from the Tank House and Jungle Bird owners.
About Stepdad's
Stepdad's took over the Freeport Boulevard space where Dad's Kitchen served comfort food for 44 years. It comes from Tyler and Melissa Williams, who run Tank House BBQ and The Jungle Bird, working with chef Oliver Ridgeway, and it bills itself as elevated American tavern fare with craft beer and cocktails. Inside Sacramento reviewed it in December 2025.
The menu has wagyu-blend burgers like the 1924 and the Hatchback with roasted hatch chiles, a Land Park Country Club sandwich, a turkey dip, shepherd's pie with braised lamb, a blackened salmon bowl and fish and chips, plus snacks such as deviled eggs, poutine and fried cheese curds. Weekend brunch runs from 10 AM. More than half the seats are held for walk-ins, and reservations are taken through Toast. It is closed Monday and Tuesday.
