About High-Hand Cafe
High-Hand Cafe is in the middle of High-Hand Nursery in downtown Loomis, next to fruit sheds built in 1901 for the High-Hand Fruit Growing Association. The sheds now hold shops, an olive oil company, a flower market and a brewery. The nursery grew from a condemned vacant lot into a place to spend a whole afternoon.
The kitchen cooks simply with fresh, local ingredients. It serves lunch Tuesday through Friday and brunch on weekends, and the nursery's own photos show wood-fired pizza, sandwiches and cake. There is indoor and outdoor seating, a private garden dining room for groups over 14, and takeout you can eat at tables around the nursery. Reservations are recommended but not required. After eating, you can walk through the plants, pottery and art gallery.
